Feasibility Phase Objectives
The project is now “active”.
Complete customer needs and competitive assessment; develop product requirements and identify the target cost; assess several alternative concepts and select the one that best satisfies the project targets; demonstrate the feasibility of the selected technical approach, assess manufacturing process implications and finalise the business case. Develop detailed plan to complete the project including estimated tooling expense.
KEY TASKS
Determine customer needs (voice of the customer data collection)
Refine the product strategy and define the product requirements
Develop and evaluate product concepts; select optimum concept/architecture; demonstrate technical feasibility
Plan remainder of the project
Develop the business case for the new product
NB - You don't have to use all Five phases - PD-Trak allows you to configure each phase to your own requirements - so for a simple project such as a line extension, you may only need 3 Phases.
