RANKING IDEAS – THE SCORING METHOD

A folder is automatically set up for each idea. Documents are uploaded into this folder. Managers can use the scoring fields to prioritise ideas (a simple Portfolio Management system).
Scoring fields may include:
Strategic Alignment
Product Differentiation
market Attractiveness
Technical Difficulty
Marketing Difficulty
Financial return
Investment Required
In PD-Trak an idea must be sponsored by either a Product Manager or an Executive Manager to become a project. Anyone can set up a Project File in PD-Trak to develop an idea. However, the project will not be visible in any management reports until it is sponsored.
Once the Product Manager or Executive Manager agrees to sponsor the project, a request to the PD-Trak Administrator to make the project visible in management reports. At this phase the project will be “Proposed”.
Projects become “Active” after passing the Feasibility Gate (1st gate review)
